Discover straw building projects from across Europe

Straw Building UK (SBUK) is proud to support the European Straw Building Association (ESBA) and its growing European Straw Building Map.

The map showcases completed straw building projects from across Europe, demonstrating the scale, diversity and maturity of modern straw construction. From homes and schools to community buildings and commercial developments, it highlights how biobased building solutions are being delivered in a wide range of climates and contexts.

Whether you are a self-builder, architect, engineer, planner, researcher or policymaker, the map provides valuable inspiration and evidence of what is already being achieved.

As more national associations contribute projects, the database will continue to grow, creating one of Europe's most comprehensive resources for straw construction.

If you have completed a straw building that is not yet included, we encourage you to contact your national association to help expand this important European resource.
