Five days of international collaboration, technical exchange and innovation

The International Straw Building Conference 2027 will take place in Nantes, France, from 2nd–6th February 2027.

Hosted by the French Straw Building Association (RFCP), in collaboration with the European Straw Building Association (ESBA), the California Straw Building Association (CASBA) and the Bio-Based Materials Collective (BBMC), the conference will welcome practitioners, researchers, manufacturers, policymakers, educators and clients from across the world.

The five-day programme will explore the role of straw and other biobased materials in addressing some of the built environment's most pressing challenges. Through project visits, technical presentations and international dialogue, delegates will exchange knowledge and experience across design, construction, manufacturing, research, agriculture and public policy.

As a founding member of ESBA, Straw Building UK (SBUK) is proud to support this international event and looks forward to contributing to a programme that reflects the breadth of expertise, innovation and collaboration taking place across the global straw building community.
